On today’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett opens up the show talking briefly about the Mariners and there three city roadtrip that starts tonight. Puck also revisits the Luis Castillo trade since the right hander is facing his former team for the first time. The Castillo trade has been an absolute steal for Seattle and the best move Jerry Dipoto has made.
Jim Duquette, MLB Network Radio joins Puck for his weekly visit and they start off chatting about the Luis Castillo/Reds trade and how much it has benefited Seattle. They also discuss the watered down AL West, the Dodgers and the NL West, the best trade he ever made as a GM and the trade he’d like back. Also, the atmosphere at Petco Park and watching the Padres play is unlike anything in baseball. Also, when is it too early to start trade discussions with other teams and how big of a target will Luis Robert Jr. be for the White Sox?
Danny Kelly, The Ringer stops by to discuss the NFL Draft for his weekly discussion. Danny gives his Top Ten Mock Draft and also makes a pick at # 18 for the Seahawks. Does Danny have a surprise for Sheduer Sanders? Where does Ashton Jeanty go and please say for the love of god he has the Seahawks taking an offensive lineman at #18!?
Puck wraps up the show with, “Hey, What the Puck!?” The Mariners are 8-8 and are playing in a bad division. It’s very plausible they can win the division with 85 or 86 wins.
