On today’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett was joined by his weekly guests, Danny Kelly, The Ringer and John Canzano, JohnCanzano.com
Puck starts off the show talking about the Washington State Cougars chances of making the College Football Playoffs as the first rankings come out on Tuesday night. Puck reacts to the show on Monday where Jim Moore, the Go-2-Guy, would rather see the Huskies lose all their games rather than win, which would help out the Cougars. Puck thinks Jim and any Cougars fan that thinks that way is crazy. You already beat them! If the Huskies beat Penn State and Oregon it makes the Cougars win look better. It’s an absolute no brainer to root for Washington.
Danny Kelly, The Ringer, who covers all things NFL pays Jason “Puck” Puckett a visit and they look back to the Seahawks loss to the Rams and the things they could have done better to secure the win. They jumped into the decision to go for it on 4th down and the play call that they went with. Can Ryan Grubb and the offense really get to their playbook if they can’t actually block?
Puck asked Danny if after nine games it’s fair to question whether the decision to hire Mike Macdonald was the correct one? The team has been as sloppy as they have ever been. Is that the result of coaching?
What about the future of Seahawks GM/President John Schneider? Under his tenure they have failed to address the offensive line and have had no plan at quarterback since Russell Wilson left. If they can’t turn this around in the next year or two, Schneider will find himself out of a job.
Lastly, Danny answers your fantasy football questions as it’s “Waiver Wire Tuesday”.
John Canzano, JohnCanzano.com, drops by to talk all things college football. Do the Cougs have a realistic shot at 11-1 and squeaking into the College Football Playoff?
What did Canzano think of Jim Moore’s thoughts about not rooting for UW, despite it benefiting the Cougars. Puck reiterates how crazy Jim is for thinking this way.
Jake Dickert has been consistent to wanting to only coach ten more years and he’s made it clear that he wants it to be in Pullman. What is his contract status? Jim has all the info from inside the building on his current deal and what a future deal could deal could look like.
When USC and Jen Cohen decide to fire Lincoln Riley, who does John think she will call first? Three big names and all with Northwest ties.
Finally, John and Puck talk about how society has lost its civility and its ability to communicate and interact with one another. Latest examples were the Jason Kelce incident at Penn State and Joel Embiid with a Philadelphia columnist.
Lastly, “Hey, What the Puck!?” Puck responds more to the lost civility in our society and addresses the recent layoffs at iHeartMedia and why he has never regretted his decision to leave the station he loved.
